Mikkel is an LA-based swim label designing sustainable bikinis for adventurous women who refuse to sacrifice quality for cuteness. Mikkel suits are designed to prioritize your comfort, embrace your style, flatter your body type, and withstand the test of travel and time. Feel good buying your new favourite bikini knowing that you're contributing to a sustainable future by supporting the use of recycled material, ethical production, and a give-back initiative with a donation made for each purchase to contribute to keeping your favourite destinations clean.

The Approach

As a self-professed bikini aficionado herself, founder and visionary Carli was fed up with buying low-quality, uncomfortable, and unsustainable swimwear that didn't last more than a season. We set out to design a modern, boho-inspired brand, that would appeal to style obsessed and eco-conscious women searching for a go-to, timeless bikini they'll want to take along for each new passport stamp.

The Result

While most competitor brands portray either a bold and edgy or luxurious and feminine aesthetic, our goal with Mikkel was to go against the grain and create something that would speak to the heart of the target audience (adventure-obsessed women who refuse to sacrifice comfort, style, or sustainability). 

We decided to create a luxurious feeling brand identity that is still down to earth, to reflect the values and personality of our ideal customer. Elevated and luxurious, yet approachable and welcoming.
